I started rollerblading in 1994 at the age of 14 during the skateboard boom. I got side tracked from about 2001-2006 and picked it back up mid 2007. Over the years i've seen the rise and decline of rollerblading, but one thing still remains, the tight knit community and the love for what we do. We get criticized, called "fruitbooters" among other derogatory names, excluded from certain skate spots, and even pulled from the "X-Games", yet the rollerblading culture still continues to progress.
Without rollerblading I wouldn't have had the opportunity to meet half the people I know, travel the country, experience the feeling of glory and defeat, or even have something to look forward to while being stuck in school
or work all week. So the saying goes, "Share the wealth." Pass on rollerblading and everything that comes with it to someone. Rollerblading only has one way to go, and thats up. So get someone to start blading today!
